Description
We discuss alternative astrophysical probes of dark matter by estimating its effects on the dynamics and structure of compact objects, such as white dwarfs, neutron stars, and black holes. We analyze gravitational dynamical friction on compact-object binaries, dark-matter accretion, and tidal disruption, and how these effects constrain the nature of the dark-matter particle in observed astrophysical systems, among them, our Galactic center.
