Classical and quantum energy extraction process from black holes: the role of the black hole irreducible mass
Evidence for energy extraction process by fission of massive particles (Penrose process) as well as electrodynamic emission from rotating black holes in gamma-ray bursts and active galactic nuclei will be addressed. In both cases the role of the irreducible mass will be evidences in characterizing the efficiency of emission process. Examples from active galactic nuclei and gamma-ray bursts will be illustrated.
